Dance Academy Perform at Governors Civic Reception

Top Valley Dance Academy - Another fabulous performance.

Once again the Dance Academy members showed their professionalism in their performance at the Governors Civic Reception held at the Council House on October 19th. They overcame last minute changes to travel arrangements (therefore arriving with just minutes to spare before their performance) to deliver three fabulous performances to Chia Chia, Flames to Dust and Footloose.

They also have a great reason to celebrate. Westfield Ltd, owners of the Broadmarsh shopping centre in Nottingham, have agreed to sponsor them for the coming year ensuring not only that the Dance Academy can continue but that they can expand to a further 30 members.

With membership now set to double to 60 we can be sure that they will continue to dazzle us with their stunning performances.

October 13th Top Valley Family Activity Day

FAD is a HUGE Success !!!!

The Top Valley Family Activity Day (known by organisers as FAD) has been hailed a huge success by all those who took part. Both the workshop providers, organisers, parents/carers and children who attended the event, all concluded that the event was useful, fun and gave them plenty of ideas for activities to take home.

Over 350 parents/carers and children flooded through the gates of Top Valley School on 13th October to take part in just some of the 19 activities on offer. Activities included Flycars, Jitterbugs, K'Nex, Mask Making, Story Puppets and Fridge Magnets all delivered by Top Valley School and Engineering College, NCN and Castle College.

Over 66 parents/carers and their children have now signed up for further courses and there are already talks of making it an annual event for the area.

Neighbourhood Management for areas 1 and 2 contributed financially to the event which was primarily funded by Top Valley Extended Schools.

It is hoped that the success of this event will shape the learning of all those within the area and lead to other providers bringing events to the area.
